ASD affiliations and partnerships

As the representative voice of the European industry, ASD actively engages with institutions such as the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), and the European Defence Agency (EDA), providing valuable technical expertise on policies and projects.

Our collaboration extends to Joint Undertakings like SESAR (Single European Sky ATM Research) and Clean Sky. Moreover, we proudly represent European industry interests at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), a UN agency dedicated to establishing international standards for air transport safety.

Sky and Space Intergroup Secretariat: ASD holds the secretariat for this group, fostering collaboration among Members of the European Parliament from various parties and nationalities. The focus is on recognising the critical impact of aviation and space technologies on Europe’s citizens and economy.

European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) collaboration: ASD and its members play a pivotal role within EASA, the European Union agency responsible for certifying European aircraft products, design offices, production facilities, and more. This involvement significantly influences the ability of European manufacturers to bring their products to market and generate exports.

International Coordinating Council of Aerospace Industries Associations (ICCAIA): ASD is a member of ICCAIA, which provides a platform for the world's aerospace manufacturers to contribute industry expertise to the development of international standards and regulations. Recognised by ICAO as an observer, ICCAIA actively participates in ICAO's work on environmental, air navigation, and air transport matters, interacting with regulatory authorities like EASA and the United States' Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
