How we work as the voice of the aerospace, security and defence industries to support, inform and represent our members
ASD serves as the voice of the aerospace, security, and defence industries, navigating the complex landscape of European policy-making and legislative processes. We bring our technical expertise and business experience to actively engage with legislative and policy initiatives that affect our members.
Over the past two decades, ASD has been a trusted interlocutor in the EU arena, striving to make EU policies more effective for an innovative and competitive European industrial ecosystem.
Globally, as part of the International Organisation for Aerospace Industry Associations (ICCAIA), we represent the European aeronautics industry at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Our focus is on fostering a more sustainable and safer Europe.

As ASD, we are proud to be the voice of the European aerospace, security and defence industries in Brussels. But we are so much more than that. At the global level, we have our say on behalf of European aeronautics manufacturers at the United Nations’ aviation agency. And the industrial standards which ASD produces are the basis of reliable interoperability by end-users in aerospace and defence around the world.
