Cybersecurity for civil aviation
Safeguarding our skies
Modern air transport relies heavily on digital applications and connectivity. This makes aviation vulnerable to possible hacking attacks and other threats from cyberspace that could endanger many lives and interrupt vital air routes. Cybersecurity is therefore a key issue for aviation stakeholders with the aim to monitor evolving threat scenarios and adapt aeronautics products accordingly.
ASD has established a Civil Aviation Cyber Security Working Group which coordinates the European aeronautics industry’s position in this area and serves as an interlocutor towards decision-makers at the European and global level.
A safe airspace can only be guaranteed via a safe cyberspace. European aeronautics manufacturers are a crucial player to ensure safety and reliability of air transport in the digital age.
