Investing in European Space

Space technology for sovereignty

From supporting rescue missions, to the weather forecast, from monitoring the impact of climate change, to personal navigation systems – space is a driver of innovation, and indispensable for our modern lives.

The European space industry faces a daunting challenge due to budget shortfalls – Europe invests seven times less than the US in its space policy. This disparity hampers European efforts to be self-reliant, a cornerstone for strategic autonomy. Europe is not only falling behind, but risks dangerous dependencies on other global powers for its security, connectivity and economic independence if it does not offer clear support of its space industry.

Europe needs to make space a top priority. Industry has the technological capabilities – as proven so many times already – but it needs appropriate, strategic funding.
