Chemicals & hazardous materials
ASD continues to work on the EU’s REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals) regulations, examining the impact of the regulations on our industry. The sector faces severe challenges without viable alternatives to a number of key materials and chemicals. ASD continues to advocate for sector-specific considerations to ensure the industry's sustainability and operational continuity.
ASD offers guidance to the industry on complying with existing obligations to ensure that the objectives REACH Article 33(1) and Article 7(2) are achieved in a consistent and pragmatic way.
ASD – through its REACH & Chemicals Working Group and its five sub-working groups – continues to actively participate and engage with the European Chemicals Agency and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the specific needs and challenges of our industry are well-understood and considered in regulatory decision-making processes.
