Protecting freedom
Building resilience for a safer tomorrow
For our armed forces to fulfil their role as protectors of our security, they must be equipped with advanced technology. The European defence industry has the expertise needed to develop, produce and maintain such equipment. By providing state-of-the-art equipment, we empower our military personnel to carry out their missions safely and with confidence.
The capacity of Europe to defend itself is intricately linked to its defence industrial capabilities. By investing in and supporting a robust indigenous defence industry, Europe ensures it remains resilient in the face of evolving challenges, and continues to be a place of peace, freedom and democracy.
What kind of defence industry does Europe need?
During peacetime, Europe’s defence industry must strive to remain at the cutting-edge of innovation and ensure technological superiority over potential adversaries. It must continuously improve existing products and produce new ones, react to evolving technologies and threat scenarios, and challenge potential adversaries by developing new and innovative concepts, disruptive technologies and new applications.
